TRÄDGÅRDSHUSET # 2 - JÖNKÖPING
2011
This project derives from the same housing concept developed for Peab Bostad and Trädgårdshuset # 1.
The project consists of two residential houses, just by the border between the more urban part to the north and the more small scale housing to the south/ west. Both houses have the same height of roof which together with the site´s relatively large height difference contributes to their adaption of the scale in relation to its context.
The houses are placed to retain important sight lines and to give the building consistently preferable sun conditions. The ambition is to keep the surrounding green area with walking paths and park benches as intact as possible.

Both houses provides apartments with generous terraces and winter gardens with access from all rooms. A typical 3-room, 80 sqm apartment will have about 40 sqm terrace including a winter garden.
In order to achieve this in an economical and constructive perspective the ambition has been to find the most rational and simple basic structure and detailing as possible.
The houses are organized around a central elevator / stairwell with four apartments per floor. Every apartment has living and dining room at the corners overlooking the magnificent views at 180°.
